Like a Parachute
Written on Jun 15, 2024
I like the size of the knife and the handle, feels really stout. The sheath is good, my recommendation would be to have some sort of friction retention along with the push button (which I really like). My concern would be accidental activating the button in an off position and the knife falling from the sheath (this has not happened to me so maybe I’m concerned over nothing) not a huge issue unless in was to fall into 10-20’ of water. I would also like to see the ability to attract something like a tec-loc higher on the sheath, than only with the holes towards the bottom. I often fish in creeks and rivers, generally setting catfish lines, and always have the concern of something going wrong and getting tangled up in a line (mine or an old one somebody left/lost in the water). Like a parachute it should help save the day if that was to happen. Overall this is a great knife and look forward to many fishing outings and as a general camp/hunting knife, great job Benchmade.

Perfect Deer Skinning Knife
Written on Jun 15, 2024
Knife feels good and natural in the hand, like an extension of your body. I will probably use this knife more on land than water I like the size of the blade for skinning deer. The blade did not come factory shaving (however plenty sharp) like most of the Benchmades I have purchased in the past and once I dull it up I’ll try my hand at sharpening this steel. I like the sheath, however not really fond of the strap that goes around the handle, a little difficult to get the knife in the sheath and then snap the strap with one hand. I would have really liked to see the same sheath design but incorporated a button release like the larger fixed blade, but that just my preference. My thought may change once I get in the field and really use it. All in all you will not be disappointed.
