Disappointed in the LpPro

Written on Jul 28, 2019

Looking at the other reviews maybe I got a bad one or I'm doing something wrong.
This baby has ate 6 batteries so far. But I'll give it a couple more chances just to see if it can even come close to what others say it can do.
It mounted well for me. The elevation and windage adjustments work well for me. The flash light is a 220 lumens. The laser is week at 20 feet outdoors in full sunlight.
If something should work out for it, I will change this review. Otherwise, enough said.

Use original Ruger rings

Written on May 25, 2019

Have a Ruger rifle. The only way to go with scope rings is original Ruger. Not only as far as I'm concerned that using original Ruger rings on your Ruger rifle increase it's value, but these rings work. These rings hold secure and will hold your zero even under extreme handling. Even once and awhile I will throw my rifle into the back of the truck after an extended hunt in the field. (Shame on me!!) Never had a problem.

Good range scope

Written on Apr 25, 2019

I needed a good spotting scope for my long range shooting. After tons of research I purchased this Vortex Razor HD 27-60x85 angled scope. To get right to it, for the money, this is just what I needed.

These ear plugs work for me!

Written on Mar 29, 2019

These ear plugs work very well for my needs. Good quality for the money. They make the muzzle blasts at the rifle range very comfortable. They also allow me to use my rifles with custom comb riser without getting in the way like ear muffs. I like that I can adjust to better hear my environment when hunting. Sometimes a little tricky to turn on and off, but not too much. Keep plenty of batteries.

Vortex Fury

Written on Feb 12, 2019

Good clear optics, a little more power would be outstanding. Easy to focus and zoom. Highest of quality and warranty. I really like that the range finder capability has been dead on. This is both at the range and while hunting in the field.

Vortex Pro GT Tripod

Written on Jan 28, 2019

I am using a Vortex Razor HD 27-60X85 angled spotting scope on this pod. This pod is well built, light weight folds well for fit in the carry bag. I have only been using it at the range from 50 to 500 yards. Have not yet had a call to use it in the field. Has all the adjustments that might be needed and easy to set up and break down at the end of the session. This was just the pod I needed. Looking forward to using it for years to come.

SightMark Sniper Data Book w/Cover

Written on Jan 02, 2019

I use a round count book by (Impact Data Books) for all of my long guns. I used the targets for two of my long range specialty rifles. I would write the date and all of the days data on these targets. While this does work, it is rather combersome to both store and review data. This year I have been pursuing in more depth the art of long range shooting. I’ve read books especially (Ryan Cleckner’s) and working with more experienced shooters. An instructor suggested that I keep a data book and used the SightMark book as an example. I now use these books on the two specialty rifles and will add books as I add rifles. First of all the cover is very well made of quality materials. It is zippered with a pocket to hold the book (much like the daytimer series products), it has three pen/pencil slots, a calculator slot, two upper slots, and a large back slot. I use one upper for the round count book and one for my gun specific Mildot Master. I keep the book for the Mildot Master in the large back slot. Even with all of this the book is sized to be very handy at the range and anywhere else it may be needed. This data book includes formulas, incline/decline, wind deflection, coriolis effect, target leads, range charts, crosswind weighting factor, wind charts, optic setup, cold bore data, target data sheets, target lead data sheets, field sketches, chronograph data sheets, reload data sheets and barrel logs. It would be nice if the spiral binder could have been made to easily add or subtr

And It Is Level

Written on Aug 19, 2018

I was sceptical about the accuracy of any regular bubble level, but if it was reasonably close I would be able to rough in my scope reticle. I used it to level a NightForce ATACR to a Sako TRG. I checked the reticle to a plumb line at 100 yards and it was dead on. I am now releveling all of my scopes.

Super Case

Written on Mar 30, 2018

I purchased this for a scoped, suppressed, 22-250 rifle with an attached bipod. I could find nothing on the market that would allow me to case this rifle combo. Until this case! With all of this and the ample number of pockets this case is the answer to all of my needs. The case is well made with superior materials and craftsmanship. Would be super if just 2 inches longer.

BC See thru covers

Written on Mar 12, 2018

I've been using Butler Creek scope covers since the 90's. I tried a different brand only once and didn't care for them. Have been using Butler Creek only once. I currently have four rifle scopes outfitted with the see thru on my object and the flip up on my eyepiece. I've only replaced one in all these years. It was a see thru on a 50 mm objective that would not stay latched down. The replacement works fine.
