I ordered this because I didn't want to have a handgun in a drawer any longer as there are young people around the house who are reaching the age of exploration now. My son is a LEO, so I asked him to look at the Microvault before I started using it, and he was quite satisfied that it was secure. Once I locked it up, he did his best to break my coded finger pattern, which was very easy for me to remember, but the number of possible combinations of finger presses is extremely large, so the combination is secure and he couldn't open the box.
The Microvault holds a full sized 9 mm automatic fitted with a light, along with three additional magazines. Access is quick: almost as quick as opening a drawer.
This is a simple black metal box. I have it cabled with the included cable to a post and store it sideways on a bookshelf. It doesn't attract any attention, and at our house nobody but me knows what it is.
For the price, this is a great solution for handgun security.
