It is great…if you do one thing!

Written on Jul 30, 2026

I learned this the hard way, so I wanted to share so that you can avoid my trials. My rig is an AR-15 shooting 77gr BTHP match ammo with a Vortex Viper PST Gen II 5–25×50 FFP scope. Long story short: the screws with this mount will slowly “unscrew” and your zero will be worthless. For $10 or so, you can get the blue (non-permanent) Loctite (which is removable) and will keep those screws from moving, and therefore hold your zero. With all that work to dial in your zero, you won’t have to do it every time you go to the range. They should really recommend this (sell it?) if you want to be a precision shooter and not have to re-zero every time you go to the range.
