I think the Gerber 600 series is the best current multitool in terms of quality and balance between size and usability. It is worth it to me to carry this large tool. I especially value the one-hand opening feature, and the replaceable saw blade. One issue: almost no company still makes U-socket jigsaw blades with a hole in the blade. Fortunately, Lenox still does. Also, only the thinner models of blade will fit, largely the metal-cutting blades; most of the wood blades and multipurpose blades are too thick to fit (but metal cutting blades work for me). And one must cut off about 1/3" of the end of the blade to fit. That sound like a big issue, but if you can find Lenox jigsaw blades with the hole (not easy to find- not usually included with Lenox recip. saw blade displays), it is only a small issue - a Dremel can cut off the needed end part of the blade. The REMGRIT blade furnished with the Gerber is essentially useless for me. But I don't recommend trying to drill a hole in U-shank jigsaw blades without a hole - blade steel is VERY hard and quite difficult to drill (I know, I tried- possible, but a lot of trouble unless you have better tools than I do, esp. drill bits for very hard steel).
This particular model of Gerber 600 has no knife blade, which I think is a very good option for workplaces etc. which do not allow knives, and is why I bought this model. But I might have replaced it with something other than a can opener - open a lot of cans lately with a pocket tool?
