Best Laser So Far for the Sig P226 In My Opinion

Written on Nov 27, 2017

I liked the concept of the Crimson Trace laser grips for the P226, so I bought that first (side button activation model). I liked that the laser grips allow you to activate the laser almost automatically. However I really didn't like the added bulk it added to the grips, it really changed the whole feel of the pistol. The Lasermax Guide Rod allowed me to use the original grips so I tried that. Very easy to install and the laser aim point lines up EXTREMELY well with the iron sights. I also like that I can use a standard holster. A couple of drawbacks are that turning on the laser is an extra step in the "process" and sometimes it's not easy to consistently find that little button to turn it on quickly. I have the Crimson Trace Laserguard for my smaller P938 pistol, which I feel is the best approach for all pistols, but alas that is not an option. For now I consider the guide rod laser approach the best option for this pistol.
