Good Large Hand Target Style Grip
Written on Jul 20, 2022
Review for
Luth-AR The Chubby Grip - AR
I really like this grip and it is very inexpensive for an AR target will fit large hands well. I agree this is not a tacticool grip. I have longer than average fingers but no bunch of bananas hands. I like to use the tip of my trigger finger as I find it more consistent with a straight back trigger pull. This grip really helps to align that trigger finger. The standard thinner size handles don't fill my hand and so my trigger finger uncomfortably rests with the middle digit instead of the tip. I also like a thumb rest as I shoot mostly target.
I also have the Sierra Precision grip, which I found slightly better. It is a little larger and more heavy duty material, however that is discontinued. I tried the Ergo Tactical Deluxe grip, also for large hands, and found it an uncomfortable shape. Being an ambi grip it has a large palm swell on both sides making it feel like holding a ball.
Both the Chubby is right hand only with single palm swell. The Chubby has some light stripling on the sides and nice indented lines at the front that function fine. I found the stippling too light for me on the Chubby and just went over the original strippling with a wood burner and pointed tip. It came out fantastic and better feeling than rubber. With light sandpaper you can take off the tips and make it however rough/smooth you want.
All in all this is an excellent larger/fat grip for the money. I am very pleased.

Great Stock

Very good quality and fit. I actually put this MLS model on a chassis version of the Ruger PCC 9mm. Fit is nice and tight but able to get it on. I was afraid the flat bottom part was going to be fragile but it is quite robust. Perfect if you want to use a rear bag for ammo testing, sighting in etc. The latch for the compartment is well built. I don't really plan on using that except maybe for a battery if out in the field. It looks real nice as well. This butt is significantly more robust than the Magpul PRS Lite and quite competative with the very overpriced regular PRS. I also got the available riser in case I need it down the road.
