Poly Canteen

Written on Aug 19, 2015

These canteens are in no way comparable to the GI issues ROTHCO canteens. These are cheap imports that are light weight and have a loose sloppy fit in GI canteen carriers. Price wise they are very reasonable, but I wouldn't recommend them for anything serious camping or survival wise.

MaxEx canteen pouch

Written on Aug 19, 2015

I found this pouch to be very well made. It works best with the GI issue canteen and not the other lighter grade units being sold. This pouch contains the canteen securely. The back of the pouch has Molle webbing, that will also accept ALICE clips that one can secure to the webbing of a belt. I use two covers plus canteens affixed to a small ruck I use for hiking. I secure these with Blackhawk speed clips and this works very well for my uses. These covers fit loose enough to accept a GI canteen cup also. All in all, this cover may not be for everyone, but if you don't utilize a bladder type water carrier and prefer the older style canteen for your purposes this should work just fine.

Coyote Brown 5 in line review

Written on Aug 19, 2015

I mount this pouch on my plate carrier. Unlike past TUFF in line mag pouches, this carrier has no snap to lock this to the MOLLE webbing once it has been interwove between the webbing. I have found no problems with this current pouch coming undone as long as one weaves it between the webbing and tucks the ending strap back in. Once that is done it locks just fine. It is much easier and faster to do once one actually does this. Personally I would prefer the original strap snap lock, but this is how they are made now and that is that. All in all a great product that also works on the belt as stated.
