Excellent stuff from Faxon! Zero tool marks, chamfered edges, I.D. is spot on plus nitride gives it a bulletproof satin finish. The three (3) set screws (don't forget #24300 blue Permatex) ain't never letting go - NO, you DO NOT need to dimple.... And the lightening holes on the sides are a nice touch too. Nicest $30 gas block out there, highly recommended, use this block on all my builds! Great scope for the price! Been shooting SLR Nikon glass for years and their Rifle Scopes definitely match up with their SLR optics. Tack sharp imaging in low light, no chromatic aberration whatsoever, clean BDC reticle (I'm lazy & forgetful - 0 & forget) plus it's got a good heft comprable to Leopold/Vortex in this price range... The turrets have a slight amount of play in them. Thats not a big thing cause once it's 0ed, it's 0ed & I'll use the BDC for holdover, the turns and clicks are extremely crisp though. With that said, the only con I've found so far is Nikon's Philippines QA...

THE GOOD:
Bought this May 2016 from OP for an M4gery build - AP receivers & scope mount, Tactical Edge BCG, Faxon 1/8 SOCOM 14.5" w/ Strike Industries JComp pinned & welded, PSA EPT trigger. Got it 0ed in 6 shots at 50/200yds June 2016. At 4.5x, 100yd/6" gong using the BDC holdover was boring after 20 rds - 1.0 MOA absolutely outstanding with M-193!

THE BAD:
I'm very relieved Nikon offers a lifetime warranty on their sport optics. Took the M4gery out for some desert shooting Sept 2016. Sometime during 90 rds downrange, the elevation cap/spring/screw went "sprong". Found the cap but nothing else, but it still held 0...!? yeay... Kinda pissed.

THE GOOD, PT 2:
I created a warranty return to Nikon's L.A. address & mailed 9/30/16 (BTW, buy the insurance & SIG REQ, if it gets broken/lost, USPS/UPS/FedEx won't pay d**k). Back at my doorstep on 10/17/16 = 11 business days!!! Fully repaired w/ "C

GG&G is Tucson's version of Spuhr! Form truly follows function, such an elegant, minimalist design with attention to detail... More $ than a Harris (before adding the cost of a rail adapter) & less than an Atlas but worth every single darn penny. EVERY edge is chamfered and the thumb screws are captive - nothing gets lost - perfect anodize. Machining & design are just like Spuhr, bullet-proof, pre-load it with no worries. Love that there are no springs to futz with. This GGG-1557 splits time between an AR-10 and a Wylde DMR, bought it for the integrated QD rail mount. Absolutely zero issues with toughness - it is a BSH and will outlast me. Very highly recommended!
