I mounted this alongside my nightvision scope and brought it out hunting for the first time a few days ago. It's a huge improvement over what I had. It was like an Infrared spotlight. I was actually able to spot a small pig in the brush with ease. Too bad the second I clicked off my safety it bolted faster than Barry Allen. Oh well. A loud safety switch isn't the fault of this illuminator. I guess that's my nest purchase!

I have an American made IO AK-47. It comes with rails on the front but those are waaaaaaaaay far away from where my cheek is resting. Enter the AK Quick Detach Scope Mount. So here's the instructions: lift up the lever (some adjustment may be required using the included hex wrench). Place on the side and line up where you want (it slides on). Close the lever. Done. If you've adjusted it right, it's locked into place and isn't going to move. Now you have a rail in a much better spot. Attach optic of choice and you're set.

This hunk of metal may seem a bit pricey (although there are constant coupon codes for Optics Planet so you shouldn't have to pay full price, I sure didn't), but it's absolutely worth it. And let's be serious: it looks awesome. Functional and awesome in one package makes it a must have.

Please note: Since the iron sights of an AK-47 are low profile, you probably aren't going to get an absolute cowitness setup using this. The nice thing is, lift the lever and pull it off and you've got your iron sights (provided you properly sighted them in, otherwise, well, good luck). So even if your optic does not have quick detach, the rail itself does. Get ready to dress up that AK!

Just one candle can illuminate the darkness. But why settle for a candle when you can have a 400 lumen weapon mounted light with a laser on it. A frickin' laser beam (extra points to you if you get the movie reference). If you've ever done training in the dark, you know it sucks. It looks really cool on TV but it's not a great situation in real life unless you have the proper gear to deal with it. This rail mounted combo is a decently priced (although the red laser is forty bucks cheaper than the green, go figure), well functioning device that can light up your life (well, light up the bad guy who was stupid enough to break into your house because he didn't see the NRA sticker on your car in the driveway, bad choices lead to bad consequences).

It's really convenient when trying to figure out where it is most comfortable to mount it. The second is that it comes with two option pressure switches: one for the light and one for the laser. You don't have to use them. I actually don't use the one on the laser. It's mounted near my forward grip so it's easy to press the button with my thumb (it clicks on so it'll stay on). The light, I have on a pressure switch on my main grip. With the light, I don't want to keep it on and paint my location at night (anyone trained in low light techniques knows what I'm talking about) and I don't want to back splash on

The Talon grips are basically cut grip tape, specifically made for a model or family of models of a firearm. In this case, I put it on my Glock 19. My Glock 19 comes with me pretty much wherever I go (and yes, wherever it's legal, calm down). It's my friend. It's my companion. Don't judge. But I tried regular grip tape and it just came off. I really don't want to take a soldering iron to the handle either. So enter the Talon grips.

Application is easy. Take your time. Especially if you don't have a surgeon's steady hands (at least I hope any surgeon you deal with has steady hands, otherwise, I hope you have a good lawyer). Once you've applied it, you'll need a hairdryer (I used my girlfriend's, which confused her when I went and shut the door and she heard it, it was amusing). It'll be nice and toasty warm. Don't worry, your gun can take far more than an evil hairdryer, so blow away (you know what I mean).

So now it's on there really good. I've gone to the range, I've drawn from the holster, and the grip stays nicely. And it grips nicely too, which I guess is the main point. It's better than the crappy grip tape I had before. The only thing it does do is it kind of catches my shirt. It's not the end of the world. In a draw situation, my hand pulling my shirt clear is superior to the grip so don't worry. Yours will be too. Unless you are 6 months old. Then you shouldn't be carrying a gun and you probably can't read this yet anyway.
