Read the instructions! The only difficulty was transferring the heatshield to the new stock - I needed to remove a bit of material from the new stock and formed a little tooth to lock it in nicely. Dremel and files and 15 minutes, no big deal. Getting the action into the stock did require a gentle tap near the gas block to seat it from muzzle toward breech. Just look at your action and the stock and see the grooves where they should line up. Same with getting the trigger pack back in place. If you're not comfortable with a very slight bit of gunsmithing type work, maybe take this to a professional. It's not quite as lego-like as AR parts.
Once it's together, it fits and shoots great. Actually gives you more AR-like ergonomics. The stock is heavier. With the handguards, this stock weighs 3.75lbs while the stock stock is 1.86 lb. But the balance is good and it doesn't make the rifle feel like an overall heavy package. Not sure how it compares to the wood stock.
