Grippy grippy grippy
Written on Jun 25, 2024
The grips have a lot of grip compared to the plastic factory grips. Gun feels secure in your hand. Didn't really seem much thinner than OEM plastic grips but the added grip gives the gun a more secure feel. The fit was okay, the panels don't perfectly align on the spine where the skin between your thumb and finger rides, I expected perfection from a Hogue product like other Hogue products I've used but not on this one. It's minor but it ain't perfect. SO I give them 4 stars. I doubt anyone from Hogue reads this stuff but I'd be glad to send pics. STill much more grip than the factory OEM plastic panels and much thinner than the thick rubber and wood grips that are available for these models.

Handy yet awkward

Review for
MGW Armory Sight-Pro Compact Sight Tool
Tool worked good but man is this thing awkward to use if you don't have a vice to mount it in. Gonna have to make a cradle for it. The dang little rod always falling out of the mover lug was aggravating as h.e.l.l.-o because "h.e.l.l." isn't a family friendly word. to. I found an adapter for low-profile sights MGW Low Mount Pusher Block MGW SP30 that fit the low-profile rear sight on my 1911. I did have to remove the 2 washers under the center nylon button to get the tool down low enough to work. If you buy the stuff you'll understand once you start using it. In case anyone needs it, they make an optics adapter MGW SP20 for installing optics plates. I did notice that looking at the slide mounted in the tool from the bottom, you can verify the slide is centered end to end. Being I like to tinker, I'm glad I bought it. I think next time I'm gonna put the new sight in the freezer over night.
