Excellent Mount - Secure & Lightweight
Written on Mar 12, 2022
Review for
Tdi Arms Side by Side Twin Picatinny Rails
The TDI Arms picatinny rail mount for AR front sight bases is robust and secure. The 3 mounting screws make the mount very stable, and installation is very easy. Compared to the Midwest Industries mount (which is also excellent, I own both), I prefer the TDI Arms 3-bolt mounting system, lighter weight, lower price, and the longer length of the picatinny rail sections. Highly recommended.

Robust Red Dot
Written on Dec 06, 2021
Very pleased with the Romeo7. Very robust stock mounts, which are compatible with Aimpoint CompM4 and GRP2 mounts. The QD mount is very robust, with absolute cowitness. Glass has no perceptible tint and excellent battery life. Good range in power settings for all brightness levels. Parallax is well controlled, but not quite as well as the 30mm holosuns (not enough difference to matter, and the superior mount quality of the Romeo7 makes it a better value). The flip caps are well secured, and snap closed nicely.
Rubber turret-cap tethers are a bit of a pain (they stick to the knobs, making them hard to replace), but this problem is remedied with a small amount of silicone lube or glycerin for lubrication when reinstalling.

Superb Sighting System

I am very pleased with the Meprolight M21!
I ordered the triangle reticle version, and the sight has exceeded my expectations. The reticle is very crisp, with no distortion in a wide range of lighting conditions. It magnifies much more clearly than LED powered reflex sights, and the triangle reticle provides a precise aiming point. The optic is also 100% waterproof; despite having an open-emitter design, the emitter location is recessed into an enclosure, in front of which is a drainage channel. I recently used this sight in heavy rain for an hour, and never lost my reticle. The lens is tinted blue, which cuts down on glare on bright days.
The biggest con to the sight is washout - the reticle can fade out against bright weapon-lights, or when shooting from a dark location into a bright one. Co-witnessed iron sights, or the polarizer attachment is a must if used at night. I purchased the polarizer, and the sight is now usable with my 1000 lumen WML. The robust construction adds weight (14.2 oz), and the sight displays some vertical parallax in the top 1/4 of the lens.

Very nice, slim CAR-15 style handguards!
Written on Nov 11, 2020
These handguards from FAB are much nicer than I expected for $20 (These are the circular & slim CAR-15 style handguards, not the larger, oval-shaped M-4 style). I ordered the tan pair, and they're much nicer than the one's that came with the rifle (Palmetto). They fit together nicely without a gap, with a solid fit between the top and bottom handguard. The handguards are also constructed of a more rigid polymer, and don't flex under a tight grip like the cheapy palmetto ones do. These are also slimmer than the Magpul SL handguard, which is a nice plus. Definitely recommended!
