Bought and installed this on a new Ruger American Ranch build chambered in 7.62x39. I must say, WOW. Great brake for the money. 7.62x39 isn't a heavy recoil round starting out, but what recoil it does generate is TAMED by this brake. The rifle is an absolute joy to shoot. That being said, just like with all other brakes of this design, you will have LOTS of redirected gas and concussive blast directed at shooters left and right of muzzle. With that in mind, yes, I highly recommend the brake.
