I bought this extended rail to provide proper eye relief for a nice Leupold scope I bought to use with my Ruger Gunsight Scout. Couple of issues right off the bat - The 2 center screw holes appeared to be about maybe .015 and .025 offline respectively. The front two screws and the rear screw fit correctly. If the center screws are started first, the other mounting screws cause a downward cant of 2-3 degrees which is out range for a scope to be able to correct for. Leaving the second center screw omitted is the only way the rail will test level. The second issue -I was using a scope with a LaRue quick mount. On the stock Ruger rail, it works perfectly with no issues. The XS rail is apparently thicker with a slightly smaller groove. The camlocks bind and are difficult to lock. LaRue makes first rate stuff and it's unlikely their quick mount is the issue. I may try some fixed ring scope mounts or get someone else's rail that fits correctly.
