Smaller than binoculars for the occasional need to get a closer look at something. I originally ordered the 10x25 but it was difficult to steady for a clear look. No tripod mount on the scope. I decided to get the 8x36 to let in more light and be able to keep it steady. If you want a true pants pocket size, get the 8x25 or 10x25 size.
