This is my first real brand enclosed dot. not some knock off which ive done well with. But i wanted a dot for a .357 and i wanted something decent. I found this in an opmod version for 230 with a riser and an rmr adapter plate with it. The plate is 50 alone. Far as i can tell compared to another rfx45 the only differences are mine only says opmop on the right side and virian across the back nothing else but function the same. Lss. Mounted on a R8 with an adapter inplace of the rear sight and i am 3 trips to the range, 800 rnd, and 3 cleanings and still holding zero and ive never experienced what a "DOT" can really do. I shoot predominantly iron sights on everything but rifles which i use scopes. Only dot on a pistol I ever used is an OLD ol school BSA on a 22A and its good but not this good.the 5 moa dot is less than i expected and works wonderful on my revolver. I can easily bullseye consistently with this dot. Its held ip to both recoil and travel and maintenance. My only complaints are 1 the buttons suck. I have 30 dollar dot's with much better tactile and responsive buttons. You really have to push to activate them. 2 Battery cap is aluminum and VERY finely threaded, be very careful and patient with it. 3 a cover for when not in use. I cant even find anything aftermarket either. That's nothing really. Overall im glad I got it.
