The Phoenix rocks on every level

Galco Dual Position Phoenix Leather Holster
First, Galco has been making fine leather holsters for eons. Second, I'm primarily a revolver guy and for a S&W, Ruger or nearly any brand of revolver (and autos), one of these Phoenix holsters will likely fit. Third, the quality is second to none. I liked my first one so much, I bought one for each of three other S&W revolvers and customized two others slightly to fit Ruger Blackhawks. Depending on your body shape, build and the gun, these could be used for OWB concealed carry but excel as a field carry option. These are fully lined, thick leather, secure holsters and with care, will last a lifetime. Galco makes other lines of holsters, but the Phoenix is as versatile and good as it gets.
Disappointing. Not up to the quality I expect from Galco.

Galco S.A.O. Single Action Outdoorsman Holster for Ruger Blackhawk, Super Blackhawk, Leather
This is an inferior product to the Phoenix line of Galco holsters I have purchased for my double action revolvers and semi autos. It is thin, unlined and feels downright cheap by comparison. I like the dual use design that allows strongside or crossdraw which is similar to the Phoenix holster, but Galco has made a deliberate decision to short change this holster line, perhaps because it is specifically for the Ruger Blackhawk... a non duty weapon. I will not purchase another. I should have gone with El Paso Saddlery with whom you get what you pay for and more.
