Admittedly one of the reasons i chose this handstop is that the majority of the furniture i was using on my m92 was jmac and this looked like it would be a great way to top it off.
It is built solid, i mean for reference it shipped in a non padded plastic envelope and was in perfect shape when it arrived. I expect that at this point the only reason i would get rid of it is if i got board with it because its not going to break.
These are good cases. I had a couple of the compact upland cases without the leather trim and got a good deal on this one so i decided to grab one.
Pros:
- Compact and holds everything in place well
-low key which is nice when traveling.
-still affordable compared to a custom case for nicer shotguns.
Cons:
-not waterproof. They dont claim to be but their ads show them being drug through mud. Probably wouldn't trust for that
-quality control. On this one they didnt teim the leather and i couldnt use one of the locks until i trimmed it with an xacto knife. My other cases have all had cases with the velco straps on the divider being crooked or not sewn in well. All minor things but annoying for the price.
Overall a good case. I recommend and would still like to pick one up that fits autos.
I put this in a liberty fat boy at the sane time i upgraded the lighting and have no regrets. For the last 20 or so years i have been using a combination of a golden rod and desiccant packs. Even with the rechargable packs it seemed like they needed recharged almost every few weeks (i live in the south so humidity is an issue). I set a reminder in my phone to empty the tank on this every two weeks and so far it has been mostly full every time. The setting on the humidifier and the hydrometer in my safe stay pretty consistent with each other so i am happy. And better yet not a hint of surface rust on anything since adding this. Score!!
The only down side is the size. If your safe is full or mostly full this may be a crunch to fit in. My solution was to buy a second safe so i could separate my tactical type rifles from my shotguns.
I have several of these cases (compact upland and sporter) I really like them for going on hunting trips because they are a little more low key going into your hotel or the baggage line at the airport.
The good, they are low key unless you know the brand. The shell is well made, good locks and a well laid out interior. Its just enough room for your ou or sxs, chokes and gloves.
The bad, the interior looks like it was put together by the lowest bidders cousin who was visiting for the weekend. Anything stitched into the case like velcro os either crooked or missing half of whats supposed to fasten it to the case.
This has been teue of every case and cleaning kit i have ever bought from Negrini. Its a minor gripe but at the price point i think they could put a little more effort in.
I would definitely recommend getting the cloth cover if you plan on flying with it. Overall i do recommend these cases over a traditional plywood ou case.
