I actually bought these four years ago right here from optics planet. Their quality is rock solid. They are built better than my Nikon EX’s and have less distortion. Nice bright image, reasonably generous eye box, not sure if these will become available again, but I hope they do. They are fantastic binoculars and they really will last through a lifetime.

I bought these Kowa BD II XD’s for hiking and sightseeing. Upon opening the packaging I was floored by the quality, fit and finish of the Bino’s and accessories (case is on the robust side) I was concerned by the fact they were made in China (according to the plate on the bottom of the bino’s) The field of vision is spectacular! I’m contemplating getting a Bino Bandit for these bad boys. Although the Nikon Action Extreme 7x35’s offer a slightly wider range the BD II XD’s are FAR cleaner across the field, Truly top notch. They have some heft to them, they are not light. The focus knob and cover for the tripod adapter threads are made of metal top notch materials all around! I also have a pair of Opticron Explorer WA ED-R 8x32‘s that I bought first for the same reason and these are a direct upgrade well worth the price in all aspects. There appears to be a little confusion regarding the warranty on these; if purchased from an authorized US retailer Kowa USA offers a limited lifetime warranty (USA only), otherwise its 10 years.

Just picked these up to stay in my truck. Optics are clean and bright with a generous FOV, distortion is almost non existent save for the extreme edges and I had to go looking for it. They have good heft and feel solid in the hand, fit and finish is top notch, on par with pairs I have that cost 3X. They look and feel amazing. The focus wheel moves smooth with no slop. The eye cups have a triple detent to the movement, very nice and helps them stay where you want them. The lens covers are tethered and the one piece top cover stays with the strap when you loop it accordingly, very convenient as I’m always losing them on my other Binos. The provided case flaps over AND zips around completely, helping keep dust out, the Binos sit in a pocket within so they won’t fall out when you open it, the case provides a strap and a belt loop. I’m still wrapping my head around the fact this model is part of Sightron’s most affordable line the SI, I bought OP’s last pair of 10X32 Sightron SIII’s and If these entry level ones are this nice I can’t wait for those to arrive. I totally recommend these, they’d make an excellent gift or pair you’d actually use due to how affordable they are.
