I like it but installation was tough.

Written on May 06, 2020

I really like this trigger guard a lot. It feels great and makes the trigger easily accessible even with thick gloves on. It's very cool and light weight. The only word of caution that I have is be careful with the installation. I didn't order the tooless as it was out of stock and the install on this was not easy. It has a really small allen screw and it really takes a good amount of torque to get it seated. The pin also required some pretty significant hammering to get it in. Make sure that you get something to rest your receiver ears on so that you don't bend them.

Easy install. Fits nicely.

I was worried about installing these as I've never taken a trigger out on an ar-15 before and I'm not super handy. I realized that if you just get your pin started then push the new pin with the little brass bullet looking piece in behind it, you can do it without ever uninstalling the trigger. One of the pins (I guess its the hammer pin) took a little bit of finagling to get it though but it really wasn't bad just keep your finger on the hammer when your pushing the kns through. No need for a vice and all that. The pins fit my spike's tactical lower perfectly. It's nice that they give you the two star head allen wrenches to tighten it from both sides.

Awesome sling. Works great for me.

I really love this sling. The adjustment pull works great every time. No issues with the quick disconnects on it. I was really impressed with it for the price. My rifle is heavy, but I really don't have an issue with the 1 1/4" width. The adjustable length makes it easy to tighten up into a close carry position or to adjust the length in order to wrist wrap for extra stability. If you're thinking that you have to spend extra money on a magpul, I strongly recommend that you give this a try.

Runs good. Cleans up nicely.

Written on May 06, 2020

Admittedly, this isn't my first spikes tactical BCG. I go back to them because I know the quality is there. For this build, I got the nickle boron (not light weighted). It ran great on my first outing to the range. No issues on my multi-cal with .223 or 5.56. It cleaned up nicely but I was sad to see the silvery finish dull out after it got hot. I used some metal polish on it after cleaning before oiling and it looked like new.

Good scope for the money.

At this price, I am very pleased with this scope. It zeroed in easily and helps me get some nice groups at 200 yards. I'm sure that I could push out to 500 yards with it. It is not a perfect scope and does have some draw backs that come with the price point but if you're looking for an affordable scope with some nice features, you really can't beat it. The illumination is fine but not really bright enough for broad daylight shooting. Just a tip for novice shooters like myself: 1 click = 1/2 inch at 100 yards.

Great stock, but the cheek rest didn't work for me.

Written on May 06, 2020

I really like this stock a lot. It is solid and well built but still comes in at a good weight. Unfortunately, the adjustable cheek rest didn't work for me as I couldn't get eye relief on my scope with it installed. I guess I could get a higher mount for my scope but I'd rather just use the stock as is.

Not What I Had Hoped For

Written on Apr 24, 2020

The side to side tilt on this is really sloppy. It tilts side to side so easily that the rifle falls over if I set it down with the legs out. I can tilt my rifle side to side and the bi-pod flops back and forth. I'm pretty sure there's supposed to be a little resistance there because with it the way it is it's very unstable. I'm better off mag resting. I was so excited to get this and now I have to try and return it with the VID out there. I wish I would have just bought a bi-pod. Maybe I got a bad one but for $150, this should be better. Also, please note that this is not the rotating version. I was a little confused on that one.
