Its great that Magpul makes this for those that need it. Obviously if you don’t have a legit need to mount Night vision in front of your scope or possibly a laser than you don’t need this. My critique of this item is that it sits very close to the scope. Depending on your scope it makes it impossible to use a sunshade on your scope. I am using a MK4 scope and it even interferes with my lense cap. The way the chassis is designed you cannot mount it forward. It requires that all three screws are used so it creates limitations due to how close it is to your scope.

Review for
Streamlight Protac Rail Mount HL-X Laser
I own 2 other HL-X’s and absolutely love them. Great lights for the price. I purchased this one hoping the laser would be a nice addition. When it arrived I immediately noticed how much heavier it was than the normal HL-X. Its also significantly longer. I planned on attaching this to an LWRC piston gun so its already a front heavy gun. There’s no way this is useable for real operators like myself.
