I wanted a high end upper to go with a newly finished high-quality lower. The DDM4 V7 Pro with its 18 inch barrel was everything I wanted plus more. The materials and components are top quality and are assembled very well. Features like a pinned gas block, top quality barrel material and pressure tested/mag particle inspected quality control are appreciated. When I received the upper, the build quality was obvious. It is solid and very well constructed with nothing loose or flimsy. Fit on my non Daniel Defense lower was really good. Balance is nice and while the barrel profile is fairly heavy, it still handles well. As described, the comp is small in size. Since the barrel is already fairly long, I didn't want a comp adding even more length so this was appreciated. About the only thing that surprised me was a plastic ejection port cover. Comments online (including those from Daniel Defense) state this was not done for cost reasons and that the cover is very durable and seals better. Time will tell about durability but it is definitely quieter when it pops open. Otherwise, I am extremely happy. No range time with it yet but that will come shortly.
