My rifle likes this load. Deer not so much.

Written on Dec 08, 2023

My Remington 700 seems to digest these fairly well. 1 to 1 1/4 groups. Taken three deer with the 100 gr Interlock. Furtherest one traveled after being hit was about fifteen yards. Can’t ask for anything more.

Beretta Recoil Pad

Written on Aug 09, 2018

First, I searched the Internet for the best price and, of course, found the best price at Optics Planet. Shipping was fast as usual. I used the recoil pad on my 686 Sporting Clays gun to shorten the length of pull. It fit the buttstock perfectly. I wish I could say I picked up a bunch more targets with the thinner pad but that would be stretching the truth. With a little more practice, who knows.

Good Scope for the Money

Written on Nov 26, 2015

I use this scope for spotting deer and also at the rifle range. It is useful out to 500 yards in good light to see the group from my 7mm Remington Mag. The tripod is very stable for use at the range. It is not as clear as my Kowa that I spent four times the money on, but for the money you can't beat it.

Harris Engineering Ultralight Bipod 6-9 inch S-

Written on Jul 10, 2015

I use my 7mm Mag for deer hunting over bean fields and food plots. Shots can easily range out to 400 yards. I first ran into the Harris bipod at a shooting seminar that lasted one afternoon. Using the Harris bipod I was ringing a 10" gong with confidence out at 500 yards shooting from the ground in the prone position.

The week after the seminar I purchased a bipod for myself. I have been using it at the range and I am very well pleased with it. It does not seem to effect the point of impact and it provides a very steady rest. The deer in Mississippi are in trouble. I heartily recommend the bipod. It is well worth the price.
