High rings needed on Browning X-Bolt Speed SPR

Written on Sep 12, 2024

Started with medium rings but had to hunker down on the stock every time I shouldered my X-Bolt Speed SPR in order to get a clear view through my scope. High rings eliminated the problem and provide a full, clear view through my Burris Signature HD 3-15x44.

Difficult to use,

Written on May 18, 2024

Very sensitive and hard to scroll thru light, laser or a combination of both.

Easy to set up, easy to use

Written on May 11, 2024

Mounted easily on my firearm and works as advertised.

Savage Hunter Round bBack Picatinny rail

Written on Apr 23, 2024

Worked perfectly. With a quick detach thermal scope I had to raise the cheek piece which was easy with a Savage Predator M110.

Cleaning perfection

Perfect product to insert a cleaning rod into a rifle without damaging the chamber.

Nosler=Quality

Written on Jan 05, 2024

I had been thinking of getting a .280AI. This ammo saved me time and money. It shoots well and is very close to the .280 AI load in velocity and energy.

Nosler Partition the 'gold standard' of hunting bullets

Written on Nov 02, 2023

Many of my rifle are particular, preferring one bullet over many others. Nosler partitions are the exception in hunting bullets. Partitions, with their flat base design are consistently accurate in my rifles and if I do my part are always deadly on game.

Safety and Ballistic Glasses

Written on Oct 30, 2023

I’ve read for years that shooters should always use ballistic glasses. Recently I bought the Oakley SI Ballistic M-Frame ALPHA glass set. This week I was checking rifles, from small calibers like .243 to larger ones like the .257 Weatherby Magnum. My new glasses kept me from getting ‘scoped’ when I moved up from light rifles to those with heavier recoil. I was glad to be protected by the Oakleys even though being ‘scoped’ is a minor although unpleasant injury.

Nosler Partition bullets and other flat base ‘hunting bullets’ provide the best accuracy

Written on Oct 27, 2023

Boat tails are all the rave now ‘BUT’ for me it’s the ‘old fashion’ flat base bullets like the Nosler Partition a that perform consistently in my hunting rifles. I’m not a precision rifle shooter but I don’t take a rifle/load combination to the field unless I can shoot under an inch with it at 100 yards. I often succumb to the hype and try more ‘modern’ bullet types when I know shots may be long (think South Dakota). My rifles are all capable of less than 1” group accuracy at 100 yards but sometimes I am not. Be it the power of intension or whatever, when I get frustrated with my shooting I revert back to the ‘ole faithful’ Nosler Partition. To me, confidence in my rifle/load combination is paramount because I must know that a missed shot is always due to me.

Trijicon thumbs up

Superior scope. I have a post too which works well on game but the TR-20 with a horizontal crosshair is easier to sight in on the range. Clear scopes which anre illuminated without bothersome batteries.
