Improvement over Venom & Viper

This is my 3rd Vortex micro Dot sight and the best one so far. It was easy to sight-in and I liked the improved click adjustment. Also love the shake-awake activation option. The Venom I bought a Month earlier appears to be defective and wont adjust. Reminds me of Tommy Boy and the pooh in a box with a warranty = its still pooh. Considering the Defender was on sale and under $175, its worth that but I wouldnt pay any higher for a Vortex. Im probaby done buying their products after several have failed...

Shaw Ruger 10/22 22 LR Threaded Rifle Barrel
The barrel arrived and it was obvious whoever packed it from Optics Planet didnt really care if it was damaged. It found its way free of the bubble wrap and just cardboard box protected it. It was wrapped it factory paper with a factory sticker with details. I unwrapped it and quickly noticed a red-brown color on my hands from touching the barrel. I noticedbthis same tint all over the barrel = it was rust! One wipe of a paper towel and the towel was red-brown. Ive tried to wipe it down aggressively and its still there. Looks like I get to Cerakote it before I ever even get to install and test it. For those that dont have the equipment and Cerakote to do this, this would really suck!
