great wml!

Written on May 01, 2024

I like this more than the options from surefire and streamlight. Looks great, very durable, very reliable over the past year that I've had it and very bright. Im glad they didn't add a pointless strobe feature. Pretty affordable too!

this is a really good dot!

Written on Mar 31, 2024

I have tried a lot of the rds options on the market and this is a solid choice. It performs as well as most of the more expensive options and seems like it's really hard to destroy. The feature set is very nice and well thought out

best trigger for the money

Written on Mar 14, 2024

Since triggertech put out this lower cost option it has been going in all my AR's. I don't personally compete so have no need for the insanely light $300 triggers. This is a very practical pull weight for a workhorse or duty gun. Break is very clean and reset is very short and precise. Can't beat em'!

uncomfortable

Written on Mar 13, 2024

This is probably the least comfortable safety selector I have ever used. I gave it two stars though because it looks pretty cool. I already threw out the packaging when I installed it so I can't really return it and I'm lazy so I'm just going to leave it in for now because it's functional. It's a real thumb biter though.

great modular carrier

Written on Feb 13, 2024

This is a good alternative to the ever popular crye jpc. It comes with more for the money and is extremely comfortable. I ordered an extra front panel for different load outs. It doesn't carry the weight of some carriers but it's not meant for that.

a pretty good knife

Written on Oct 04, 2023

I have eyed this knife for a while and I ended up buying it when I found it deeply discounted. I really like the blade shape and quality and blade thickness. The sheeth is essentially a placeholder, it's pretty much a throwaway once you make or find a decent one. IMO a pretty good sheeth should come with a $300 knife, not one that looks like someone's first leatherwork project. As far as personal preference stuff I wish they would have shaved a half inch off the handle length. The last half inch sticks out past the hand contact area and serves no practical purpose. The handle material needs a bit more texture and has a weird bulge towards the blade. I will probably end up pulling the handle, shaving the end and replacing the handle material at some point. I love the blade shape for processing game! And of course it's a Benchmade so it's very high quality steel. If I had to pay almost $300 for this knife I probably would have taken a pass, but I found it for $182 and I'm very happy with my purchase.

doesn't fit

Written on Aug 12, 2023

This trigger should honestly come with some sort of a disclaimer that it is not an exact pattern drop in and modifications may be necessary if using anything besides an OEM plastic stock. It wouldn't fit my sharps bros chassis without filing and I decided I'm just going to send it back and order another Timney. Wish I could comment on the quality of the trigger but I will never know because I didn't feel like modifying my chassis.

my new favorite

Written on May 29, 2023

This muzzle brake is an excellent compromise of recoil reduction, concussion, and weight. I have two 300 win mag rifles currently, I have a Seekins Precision brake on one and this one on the other. The Seekins does a better job reducing recoil but it is insanely percussive and loud. It will knock the hat off the person in the next shooting bay. I also have a Lantac Dragon, dead air keymo, and a few others lying around. This looks good, is easy to time with the included crush washer and strikes a good medium of taming the recoil and not blowing eardrums off of your grandmother in the next county.

good practical trigger

Written on Apr 12, 2023

This has been a great trigger for practical uses. I honestly don't want a much lighter trigger on a gun I will carry and train with. This isn't a trigger for a bench gun but that's why it's called a TACTICAL trigger. I like two stage trigger groups and this one is very crisp, predictable and the reset is excellent.

great trigger

Written on Apr 11, 2023

There's a lot of good AR triggers out there these days and this is among the best I have used. I really like the two stage design they use. The first stage is very light and short but it is there. Running it fast feels like a single stage yet you have that tiny bit of take up for bench shooting. I honestly don't see a need for a lighter trigger than this. The break is super crisp and on par with high quality hunting rifles I own.
