Clippity do da...

Written on Jan 02, 2025

Made from aluminum, I used this mounting point to screw to the R side buttstock of my new Ultima Patrol. Solid. Easy to do, utilizing the M-lok screws from this unit with the wide base against the stock material to keep from having to use washers. Now I can mate up with a paraclip on the sling and go to work.

The UP only has a rear QD attachment at the bottom of the stock, which causes an upside down orientation when hanging freely from a sling. Now it stays upright and will not interfere with a RH cheek weld while mounting the weapon. Works perfectly and looks factory installed.

Go Sling it!

A versatile product, the MS3 Gen2 can be used as either a single-point (my original intention) or a 2-point. With a para clip on both ends, its already worth the price. The sling material itself is unlike any other nylon sling I have seen, with a diamond-like pattern weave. It is more supple and therefore increases comfort around the neck and other contact areas, yet I see this as being just as durable and wear resistant as any other. Some may see the HD plastic hardwear as a con, but not only does this keep the weight down but also keeps the sling from sagging under the weight of the individual pieces, but the slickness of the plastic allows for easier adjustments from taught to loose and vice versa. For how this sling is to be used, I cannot see how metal hardware would be a benefit. Once the plastic wears out, it'd be time for another sling -- the nylon strap would also be wearing. It comes in several currently popular colors -- as a rifle / carbine / shotgun accessory / necessity, I do not think you can go wrong with this.
