What On/Off switch???

Written on Jun 12, 2018

It's a limited recommendation because it's fairly inexpensive and accurate as tested, to 100m (once you get accustomed to the huge, blotchy, fuzzy dot). But, yeah there's no on/off switch. Supposedly, one removes the cover to turn the sight "on" and puts the cover back onto the sight to turn it "off."

Also, The dot obliterates the target even on its dimmest setting and presents a somewhat blotchy & fuzzy picture with little, laser wings instead of a nice, clear dot or reticle.
It does hold zero on my AR10-type rifle and is small and light which, is to be expected from a micro dot, right?

No idea how weather resistant or shock resistant it may be yet but judging from its construction, I'd bet a little bit of moisture will wreck it and, it holds up to the shock of a 7.62 though. I haven't bumped or banged it around and hope not to.

Very few complaints

My job abuses my gear. My pistol/holster gets banged around, pulled on, caught up on seatbelts, long gun slings, body armor plates and is bashed against door ways, truck doors and anything on the ground. I bought this because the Epoch holster was not available. So, I expected less protection of my pistol with everything rearward of the ejection port exposed. That's what I got. I haven't used it while under fire yet so, we shall see....

Function and durability are aces thus far. I'm concerned about the reliability of the release mechanism as it is somewhat exposed. Not an issue yet.

The holster does not mount to other Blackhawk! bases. I had to find MUCH longer screws of a funky, little diameter in order to mount the holster to a Blackhawk! drop-leg holster base.

There's only two things I'd change....

The function and durability is 1st class thus far. the light is bright AF and truly does light up the average sized, dark room.

I would like to see a switch that the user can press, as in, inward toward the light as opposed to upward or downward. It's a little awkward but, practice will make it less so.

I'd also like the ability to change batteries without removing the light from my firearm.
