Bought this for a Ruger 10/22 to mount a red-dot onto. This pic-rail fit perfectly and finish was perfect. Personally I don’t care for the forward section “hanging” off the front of the receiver. This may be to allow for a broader range of fitment for certain scopes/rings. I just didn’t like that i was forced to remove the top portion of the rear iron sight-to allow for clearance. As typical of EGW, good quality mount for the money.

Bought this for stepson’s Ruger 10/22. Used an EGW pic-rail mount. The red-dot comes with 2 mounts. One for AR style weapons “Riser” and the other is the standard/low mount for every other kind of weapon. The overall quality and fit/finish is really good and what you’d expect from Vortex. I do not like that it’s made in China! Switching out mounts is very easy and straightforward. With the low/standard mount installed it was low enough off the receiver to allow a mostly proper cheekweld for an 11 year old. The only negative that I believe is worth noting and is easily fixable for Vortex is the brightness settings. From 0-to-6-maybe-7, you cannot see the dot in any kind of daylight. They either need to just eliminate those settings or put a “0” (off) between brightness settings so you’re not having to roll through the (heavy detent) settings/levels.
