Streamlight Septor HAZ-LO Div. 1 Headlamp
In a world with headlamps a-plenty I had a difficult time deciding on a general use model. After much debate, comparison, and research, I decided this was the model for me. When picking a headlamp for general use it is less important to pick the brightest model and more important to pick battery life, battery type, ease of replacing batteries, area of illumination, and durability. This model fits the bill on all of these plus it is intrinsically safe. This makes the headlamp perfect for an emergency pack to be used in a disaster. Gas leaks and flammable atmospheres can lurk everywhere in an emergency. No more worries of igniting a vapor cloud with my light.

UST Floating Butane Lighter
This lighter was indended to to into my emergency pack and stay there. However I was so impressed by its performance it ended up on my workbench for general use with projects. This item comes EMPTY without fuel. However the fuel is easy to find and a little goes a long way. Filling was straightforward and fairly easy however it did make a mess with spilled fuel. Not really an issue if you fill it and then let the item sit overnight outside of its housing. Lighter does require to to click it twice to get a flame but this is normal. I am so impressed I am going to be purchasing two more for other packs I have.

Rite in the Rain All-Weather Pen
Perfect pen for emergency packs along with a pencil. Not the most durable of models but definitely worth the price. I received a red ink pen when I was expecting a black one but this ended up being nothing to worry about. It went right into my emergency pack where it will be staying so it does not matter what color you get. I recommend ordering several of these as they tend to be snatched up by others.
