I built an AR-15 and decided I wanted to try to qualify out to 500 yards at the range here in Homestead Florida. The scope that I had on the rifle wasn't up to the challenge. I could qualify at 100 yards, but not 200. I saw this brand-new Vortex 6-24x50 Diamondback Tactical FFP Riflescope, 30mm Tube, EBR-2C MRAD Reticle, DBK-10029 and fell in love. It looked just like what I needed, so I bought one and mounted it. Had to requalify at 100 yards. No problem. (No spotting scope needed!) I went to the 500 Yard range and told the Rangemaster that I only had bulk ammo and not to expect too much. He said give it a shot. I had a Ballistics App on my iPhone so it said I needed 3.69 clicks up to go from 100 to 200 yards so I gave it 4. Fired one shot and it hit dead center in the Iron Maiden. Fired two more, "Dong, Dong!". Qualified to 200. He said "300!", Doped it in "Dong, Dong, Dong!" "400!" "Dong, Dong,Dong!" Qualified to 400 yards and I could actually clearly see the hits. The 500 Yard Steel was down because of construction, but we drove a paper target out to the 500 Yard spot. The Rangemaster said "Look back." "That is a quarter of a mile away and you will never see these bullets hit. We will have to drive back to see if you qualified to 500." To make a long story short, we went back and I doped in the scope and qualified at 500 Yards with and everyday AR-15 and bulk ammo with an extraordinary scope. I love this scope and highly recommend it!
