Smaller diameter gas rings are by design

Written on Mar 10, 2024

Just fyi, fellas, JP’s smaller diameter gas rings are, in-fact by design. It spooked me too when I first got my JP LMOS, & I even replaced ‘em when I saw it wouldn’t hold up to the ‘stand test’ & the bolt dropped straight inside the carrier. But upon READING the literature that was provided (at least w/the LMOS) it says specifically, “it will not hold its weight upon standing the BCG vertically on the bolt face, which IS by design..” This is all part of JP’s proprietary engineering & uniquely smooth operating internal products. My LMOS system runs smooth as silk & I couldn’t be happier.

‘Probly just bad luck

Written on Mar 09, 2023

Seemed like it may’ve been a decent enough laser, if/when you get a functional unit. It was likely just bad luck, mine being ‘bunk’. I returned it cuz it really wouldn’t even turn on. It tried to a cpl times whist I was shaking it & repeatedly pressing the button. But, I order tons of stuff from OP, & sometimes ya just get the lemon from the assembly line. Nevertheless, I’m still in the market for a compact green laser & am thinking of checking my ‘bad luck theory’ by giving Hawk another shot. If-so, I will follow up on another review.

WILL NOT WORK WITH LAW TACTICAL FOLDER

Written on Feb 18, 2023

That, really should be included in the description. As popular as LTF’s are, either JP &/or OP should include that little detail. Sure, I’ll recommend it. I’m sure it functions as flawlessly as any/all JP products. But according to one of the Q&A’s, only with the JP Silent Capture Buffer. Which I think sux as well. You shouldn’t be railroaded into having to purchase that as well. Pretty disappointed. Guess I’ll be returning it & going w/a QC10 er something. cuz I love being able to fold the stock on my ARv-9 & carry it in my backpack..

Not sure what to think..

Written on Jan 27, 2023

I figured I’d recommend it on here, cuz idk if i may have just got a flawed setup I bought this setup & was really excited about it. I’ve had the Eotech G33/EXPS combo & currently have their EXPS/G45 combo (which is amazing). Anywho, idk if it’s the Triji magnifier or the MRO. The MRO by itself is great, but when magnified, the red-dot becomes very oblong &/or wonky shaped (painfully) I tried every possible solution, such as adjusting the space between the two, adjusting the focal objective, I even thought I may have a stigmatism, cuz I know that’s what happens if you have a stig~ but my buddies all confirmed it. I can get the red-dot to stay circular if I adjust the focal obj~ enough, but then everything else the field of view becomes blurry, cuz it’s solely focussed on the dot. Nevertheless, I put the Triji magnifier on my Aimpoint T-1 & it works fine; which leads me to believe it’s an issue with Triji’s red-dot tech. So I’m just using it on that platform. Pretty disappointing, given it’s Trijicon & the same cost as an Eo combo. I’d be curious if anybody else has experienced this..

Read the reviews.. Not a 1” tube

Written on Oct 16, 2022

I’m really kicking myself for not reading the other review. Had I read it, I would have ordered the correct rings. Just as the gentleman before me mentioned, this is NOT a 1 inch tube, it is in-fact a 30mm tube. My rings haven’t even arrived yet (I ordered them a cpl days after the optic) & now I getta order a 30mill set & return the 1 inch when they arrive. That really is frustrating that OP screws up like this. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a monogamist OP customer. They’ve been my go-to for most things Gun related for years, but come-on.!! Tho this optic is deff a budget optic, it is likely the best bang in its $250-ish price bracket (given the included range finder), it is deff nothing to brag about. I disagree w/the the only other review so far, I could deffinily reach out to 1k yrds with it & plan to do-so. The range Finder feels pretty cheap (very light, very plastic), but seems to do it’s job. I may do another review after using this set-up to push the 1k yrd envelope. In all honesty, I kinda wish I’d held off & spent more money on a higher quality set-up. This really is an entry level optic set for, say, a young beginner learning to shoot/hunt. & of course I was aware of that, but lacking in fundage for this particular rifle & was in a pinch for a rangefinder. Just remember ‘good ain’t cheap & cheap ain’t good’ will always apply..

pretty nice

Written on Mar 22, 2022

Not as great as Jerry Miculek & other professionals made it sound, as least to me & my buddy (who’s a professional 3 gunner). Don’t get me wrong, these are nice. I purchased 2, One for my Gen-5 G45 and one for my 19x. It is smooth, but pretty mushy with more creep than I expected & no real discernible wall before the break & the reset is still pretty long. It is a little smoother & lighter pull in my 19x for some reason. The frustrating part is, my buddies S&W M&P is 1000% better with the same trigger.. I spent $15 on a Ghost Lady connector prior to this & the only thing that is any better really, is the reset..
