Half moa consistently. Point Of Impact very close to M193 at 100 yards. This was all achieved using a Faxon .223 Wylde 16" Pencil barrel. My experience has led me to prefer this ammunition over all others.
I went with this model for a Shield Plus 30 Super Carry because I saw it was original equipment on the previous shield models. It bolted right on, and I did not even need to be zeroed!
The auto-brightness really shines (no pun intended) on this beauty! The brightness level is appropriate for the surroundings and I even held it in a room next to a light switch and flipped it on and off and the brightness changed in sync with the light switch! This would be in stark contrast to a Holosun HE503CU-GR Elite (different class of optic).
I do like the break but the reset will occasionally burst fire. It was fun at first, but it gets to be embarrassing when I'm not ready for it, especially when I'm at a Fudd range (no more than one shot every three seconds). I really want to like it but I don't think it's the kind of trigger for me, even if it didn't burst fire.
It just works! Even on my finicky sharp-edged FN509 mags. I was able to load two mags before it had started to hiccup until I actually read the instructions and oiled the surfaces, now it works even better.
There were no instructions included for installation except for a sticker in the box stating "Do not exceed 3 ft-lbs when torquing bolts to avoid stripping." So I set my torque driver to 18 inch pounds (Effectively ½ of the warning) and cracked the handguard at the barrel nut. I would otherwise have given a 4 star rating.
Integrity or instructional issues aside. The finish is a flat black that seems ideal for finishing to your liking, but would be hard to look good on anything out of the box. I very much liked the contours and edges. The 12 o'clock m-lok worked great with magpul m-lok slot covers with a c-clamp grip. It is very much a budget minded alternative to an Aero Atlas S-one except with the bonus of 12 o'clock m-lok slots.
I wanted very much to like it, but I had to send it back for the Atlas.
I really didn't think a muzzle brake would have an effect on 9mm but I wanted to mount the Control Shield for a little earpro in an HD scenario. Yet here we are, it DOES make followup shots easier like a brake is supposed to!
I like the appearance, it looks good without reeking of "tacticool."
I would never recommend this at full price. If it's permanently "half price," then you'll get what you pay for. It is extremely light and flimsy, has a little slop in the upper. It actually bent and I replaced it with the cheapest non-mil-spec charging handle the range had in stock, a BCM for $50 and discovered what I was missing from a high quality charging handle.
I loved the appearance and the levers but it turns out I was missing out on much better.
