I have three of these mounts now. Fairly low profile and lightweight. All of mine are mounted on a rifle using a vortex red dot. Solid construction and hold zero well. I don’t really like the top mounted red dots because of the height and because I tend to hold my AR at an offset angle anyway when moving around.

This is my second venom enclosed red dot. I have both the 3 and 6 MOA. Both are offset mounted on ARs and are great for it. I prefer the 3 MOA now that I have both for ARs and can consistently hit steel at a 100 yards with it. It sit a little higher than the more expensive defender, which is better for a rifle. For the price and with vortex’s warranty I think it’s the best option for my application.
