Very solid and perfect for mounting a light or other accessory if you don’t want to install a railed hand guard. The QD socket is a nice feature too. Make sure to use a little lock tite when installing.

This is a GREAT unit with excellent capabilities at a nice price point. You can get an IR only laser for around $530, or a unit with IR and visible laser along with an infrared illuminator for around $1,200. This unit gives you both IR laser and IR illuminator (which is laser based, not LED) in one package, and at just a shade under $800.
The only potential drawback I can see is that a left hand shooter will have trouble activating the laser without using a remote pressure pad, since the button is located on the left side of the unit. For a right handed shooter, it works great with or without the remote pressure pad.
