Bought this because my dedicated 9-inch upper was giving a supersonic crack with the Mini-mags and Win. M22 when suppressed . Slower ammo was not giving the boost for reliable function ( esp. with the binary trigger ) This unit allows for their use and still remain subsonic . I do wish it came with the forward assist block and the CMMG charging handle . In my limited use of this , built in a standard AR upper , it is reliable and fun .
The main advantage of a build on a standard upper rather than a CMMG dedicated upper is the difference in the machining of the uppers allows the use of the " Better Mag " adaptor which allows the use of the 25 round S/W AR15-22 mags and the 35 round Plinker's Tactical mags and have a true bolt hold open function rather than have the bolt close when you remove the empty mag .

It's Midwest quality , so nothing wrong there . I like this model because , one , it's easy to install . Lube up the threads , screw the nut on/off a couple of times , screw on and torque to spec , put their goop on the checked nut exterior , slide on the handguard , install the locating / locking piece , install and torque the two screws , and you're done . Two , the short handguard has very little room , so the five QD sling ports leaves more space free and gives you several carrying options .

Only have had them a short time ....but I love them . I bought two after reading about all the options out there . I do have some full autos , but mag dumps do get old after awhile . I found that in hand held firearms , short bursts are needed for hits . Why pay $20-25,000 if under $400 will do much the same thing ? I installed the two in two Spike's Tactical lowers , a SBR'd Hellbreaker and a soon to be SBR'd Snowflake . Both were fitted with standard recoil springs and H2 buffers in carbine stocks . The Hellbreaker unit , after a few magazine break ins to spread the lube and fit the parts a tad , work perfectly with a 4-1/2 inch suppressed .22LR upper , a 10-1/2 inch .223 unsuppressed upper , a 9 inch 300 Blackout upper ( both unsuppressed with 115 grain supers and suppressed with 220 grain subs ) , and an 8 inch .458 Socom upper ( unsuppressed 300 gr supers ) . The Snowflake unit worked with a longer .22 upper , but I have yet to try it on the 16-20 inch center fire uppers . I plan to get a third unit for my S/W AR15-22 just because they are so much fun in .22 ( and much lighter than FA Thompsons with .22 kits in them ) . I went with these because they work with .22 uppers and I can use the other uppers without changing BCGs .

I bought these half thinking I would not like them and would just end up in my failure drawer . Boy , was I wrong . These went on fairly easy but only if you did one slot at a time . Took awhile , but was not a fight . They provide holes for your skin to sink into to give a good solid grip and do have a slight " tacky " feeling , but not as bad as I had thought they'd be . Their most redeeming quality , however , is the ability to allow air to circulate through the rail and around the barrel rather than the other plugs that block the holes completely . Down here in the desert southwest , this is a good thing .
The only " bad " thing about them is that they're not available in Key-mod yet .

I love the inner lining on these , they really hold the scope aligned while you tighten the screws . The quick release levers are easy to adjust to work as you want . They are very good quality for the cost .

Easy to install and remove to adjust . Easy to cut to length . Feels good in the hand . It does seem to plug the holes completely , so barrel overheating might be a problem , but I have not shot the gun with them on it yet .

Easy to put on and remove to adjust placement . Easy to cut to length needed . Feels good in the hand . Gives a good grip without being uncomfortable .
Have not shot the gun yet , so I can't comment on the affect on barrel cooling .

It's easy to make an excellent " case " for this product .
It is made of a thick , strong plastic . It has 5 nice strong latches , two of them with locks . Two padlock hasps , each with a slot to hold the padlock tight to the case's body . A strong , foldable carrying handle . Eggshell foam at the top and bottom with a thick pluckable center layer . Really well made and a lot of value for the money . I plan to buy more of these as I see which of my guns will fit them .
