Better than standard mil-spec.

Written on Aug 23, 2021

I have several of these. I personally don't like the curved button, as I prefer using flush buttons, but the overall product is superior to the mil-spec catch that comes with lower parts kits. Also, the shorter length of part of the catch that screws into the button is perfect for any billet mag buttons that do not screw all the way through. The finish can vary on these.

I think this is decent.

I was looking for one of the metal ones that I saw on a gunsmith channel, but it was overpriced. I do a lot of building, so I figured I would give this a try, as it's an upgrade to my old blocks. It does hold the receiver firm once tightened down. However, the angle of the magazine well shelf will not fit any of my lowers flush. It's not a big deal, just somewhat annoying. My lowers also sit at a slight cant when this is being utilized, which is still better than having them wobble around on one of the old blocks that don't tighten/expand. I wouldn't recommend using this to stake you castle nut though. Although it has flaws, I would recommend this product. Especially when it's on sale. I've never used the little red thing that comes with it.

It's a wrench.

Written on Aug 23, 2021

It does what it was designed to do, and connects to a proper torque wrench to reach the desired range. The coating is crappy, but it works. Make sure you oil it up when you receive it, or it will rust.

Didn't work out.

This had a great overall size and feel to it, but the hole was larger than mil-spec and canted. So it sat canted and wobbled. It's been replaced. Money wasted. Shouldn't have rolled the dice with Strike.

Rusty detent

Written on Aug 23, 2021

I own several of these. Great safety selector. Sadly, my most recent one came with a rusty detent. Radian is too busy to pick up the phone, answer emails, or even reply in the live chat box. As soon as customer service goes out the window, I stop buying from a company. I can easily replace the detent on my own dime, but shouldn't have to. I will try a brand than gets back to it's long term customers next time.

A little rough

Written on Aug 23, 2021

The set that I received must have been manufactured at the end of tooling life because the channel where the detent rides was ribbed. That smoothening out with use is unlikely since these look to have a nitride finish. They would be gtg otherwise. There are other offerings out there for less, that are much smoother.

True offset to bore axis

Written on Aug 23, 2021

I spoke with JP before purchasing this. It is true offset to bore and not just the to of the rail. My only gripe is that its only got 3 slots, so my red dots hang over both ends of the adaptor. For reference, one is a a holosun 507 with riser, and one is a deltapoint pro with riser.

Worth every penny.

I pretty much hold stock in quad rails at this point, and these are a must. Save your kit from betting dinged up, save your rail from getting dented, save your hands...unless you like them shredded. The heat from the sun alone, in the areas i have been, can burn your hands before you even start shooting. Even with lower profile systems, I put one of these on the top pic section. I have an abundance of there now. They have never let me down. They are also much cheaper than other companies similar offering...except I can get a 3 pack of these for just a few more dollars than a single pack of those. Been using for over a decade both professionally and when home.

Good product.

I had optics planet price match this for me. I did get the one that holds 6. I am glad I purchased this item. A much better option than keeping them in cases or just setting them in a safe. They will hold pistols with optics as well.

Have purchased several.

After many years of building, I have failed to appreciate the mil spec mag catch that comes in most lower parts kits. I've had some break, be broken out of the box, rust, rough threading, and so on. Plus, if you like using billet mag release buttons that dont thread all the way through, the standard mil spec will stick out pretty far. These BAD Enhanced Catch's are shorter, smoother, and machined better. My only gripe is the inconsistency with the finish on some of them, but it's still a far better option in my opinion. Worth the money.
