It does a decent job diverting gas the way it was intended. I still recommend using liquid gasket to seal the handle to the upper and then take a razor and cut it. This creates a much better seal. For the price this is a very good option

This ammunition does cycles reliably while being slightly more quiet then other sub sonic rounds.

I should note that I only tested these suppressed and have no idea what they sound like unsuppressed.

They are a lead tipped round, this does cause feeding issues rarely, I would prefer they be copper plated, but i still buy these fairly regularly.

So the item does work the way it was intended. It allows the forward assist button to work.

The problem I ran into with this item, was it added to much weight and possibly friction. This additional resistance created issues with the ability of the gun to cycle.

I found that every 5-10 rounds, the bolt would no go back far enough to eject the shell properly, this left the casing in the chamber, causing a jam. The other thing that accured was the shell would eject and cycle a new round, but the bolt didnt go back far enough to reset the trigger.

I have tested this with several brands and types of ammo. I had the same issues with both subs and regular rounds. The issues were far more frequent with subs. But the issues still occured with regular rounds.

It should be noted I only tested this with a suppressor on the gun.

In the end, I decided I wont be using this item, it causes a lot more jams then it fixes. I really want to like this product and appreciate what it was trying to do. I am pretty sure this is made from steel, maybe if it was aluminum it wouldnt have so much weight to create these problems.

I like the kit a lot. It works well to cover up the hole in the rear of the ejection port when using a 22 bilt conversion kit.

However, i gave it 4 stars because the brass deflector part is plastic and the brass will eat away at it after tens of thousands of rounds.

My other gripe is that the plastic peice is a bit loose when it sits in place. I used liquid gasket and sealed it in place to fix the issue.

All in all. If you have an old upper that has a 22 bolt conversion dedicated to it. Then this makes the upper appear a lot nicer. That being said, i dont think it adds any practical or mechanical advantages, it just looks nicer.

This rail is solid, the rail lines up with the upper perfectly. The coat is nice and doesn't scratch easily. Even though the rail doesn't rotate when it's tight, I wish it would have had anti rotation tabs. You will not find a better option unless you want to want to pay double what this costs. I have ordered several things from optics planet for the free shipping, I have never been disappointed
