A $100 mag? Worth it.
Written on Sep 08, 2025
Review for
Hawkins Precision 4 Round Hunter Magazine
I get it, $100 is a lot to pay for a mag. And when it arrives, and you hold it in your hand, you’ll be surprised it’s so expensive. But when you load it with 4 rounds and snap it into your bottom metal you’ll say, ‘Worth it.’ I bought this before my AK sheep hunt (Waypoint 2020 6.5 CM) because I wanted a flush fit mag and so I could hold my rifle in the center of gravity. 4 rounds instead of 5 was a small price to pay for that convenience, weight savings, AND mag that didn’t rattle like my MDT AICS mag. But with confidence.

Review for
MDT Metal AICS SA 12 Round Rifle Magazine
I bought this to replace the AICS MagPul mag that came with my Springfield Waypoint 2020 6.5CM. The MP is fine and does the job but it feels cheap and the design is too ‘tacti-cool’ for this rifle. The MDT is solid, doesn’t rattle when it’s in the mag well, and has a more functional look that’s better built without drawing attention to itself. The follower spring is a little tight but that’ll change the more I use it. I know I’ll have this mag for years.

Accurate Copper Bullets
Written on Feb 04, 2024
I’ve had my problems with Nosler bullets in the past, but I bought these to see how they shot in my new 6.5CM Springfield Waypoint 2020. And they’re awesome. I shot a .6” group at 100y, beating similar bullets from Barnes and Winchester. I’m still testing a few other bullets but I think this will be my go-to for upcoming aoudad and sheep hunts. Nosler has been redeemed. Buy with confidence.
