The carbon fiber portion of the stock is high quality and really well formed. Problem is with the threaded aluminum collar, that's epoxied onto the receiver end of the carbon fiber extension. It is epoxied in such a manner that the aluminum collar and the carbon fiber portions are not in line with each other. The end of carbon fiber tube protrudes out of alignment on the inside, creating a sharp ridge that impedes the cycling of reciprocating buffer. At the steep price this stock goes for, the joint between the aluminum and carbon fiber should be perfectly straight, creating a seamless transition between the two. Instead it is cocked and angled to the point of creating an obstruction on the inner wall that creates a hazard and is guaranteed to become a failure point. What’s really incomprehensible, is how can a manufacturer screw up so badly aligning the parts in line, where there are only two parts that the stock consists of. Made proudly in America seem to take a whole different meaning under the current regime. I’d stay away from this company and their products, unless the blind DEI (didn’t earn it) employee assembling things is relegated to less consequential tasks. That’s the only explanation for this visible with naked eye, monumental assembly error that makes sense. Don’t jeopardize your safety and look elsewhere….
Feels solid and heavy duty, largely because of use of what seems to be a quality high density polymer blend and thick frame with built in battery storage. On the scale it comes in at 10.5 oz empty, with storage capable of fitting 2x AA or 3x CR123 batteries. The biggest issue that puts it in a lower tier among its peers, is its wobbly fit on a receiver extension. On my Patriot Ordinance Factory buffer tube, it is looser than the morals of a feral alley cat in the spring. The excessive side to side rattle could be justified on a $40 stock and is not something one would expect on a SOPMOD stock approaching a $100 mark. There is no tensioning mechanism built in that could mitigate it in any way, so strips of thick plastic tape alongside the buffer tube boss channel or alongside the buffer tube itself seem to be the only option to remove some of that excessive play. In short, there are many alternatives available at far less cost and with way better fit to settle for this one.
The magwell attaches to the TS-2 stock with a small, fine-threaded screw that is not included with the magwell. When you’re selling an item which’s sole purpose is to increase the functionality of a base product, and none of the two, not the stock nor the magwell, come with a single piece of proprietary hardware to make the two work together, you deserve to fade into irrelevance and off the market, leaving it to the companies that take pride in what they do and deliver products that work, not just the promise of it.
