Yup it's a buffer tube. Screw it on, shove in your spring and weight and move on. This one is a bit more expensive, but the looks, fit, and finish is quite nice. Up to you if it's worth it. Generally these things are interchangeable and one is as good as the other. I went with this because I was doing other blue line parts from strike. The missus found a better fit on this one than standard buffer tubes because of the extra notch, and a black one went to replace the one on hers.

After use I have this to say. I liked this for the extra padding, and will say that I've used this stock for a Remington shotgun and it was great. On the AR it failed to have a good fit. Lockup was sloppier than a mil-spec gi type stock on three mil-spec tubes from Strike, Aero, and KAW Valley. Additionally the QD mount was not installed correctly and pulled right out once a strap was attached. From a bench it was good, especially when shooting .308 . It's almost like the ID was sized for a commercial spec tube. I'd return it if I could but I tossed the packaging, my mistake. Purchased a CTR as a replacement and it was perfect. A Hogue also fit very well. If you like grey, this one is a lighter grey and does not match Magpul.

This is a very well machined, well planned, well laid out, and ergonomic handguard for a very inexpensive price. It extends the flattop of your upper just enough to get an offset BUIS, your dot, and a multiplier on it. Front area, you got your BUIS again. Now if I need a flashlight... I can drop on a little mlok rail and go, but I'm not carrying 2 extra lbs of picitinny rail everywhere I go. Also in shaving the top rail down, you got a nice little size savings, and some good ergononics for a c-clamp hold on your rifle. Toss on an angled forgrip and some m-lok rail covers in your preferred flavor and you're good to go. You won't be tacti-cool with this one, but you will have a great rifle.

I like it. Was it worth the extra cost, maybe for the unique pattern and nothing more. It's a button, you push it, and you move the BCG forward. Please remember to SLAP first though otherwise this won't do you any good.

Tungsten powder. No shakey noise. Ask what you should put in your mid-length gas system, and most will tell you get a spikes T2 and call it a day. It's that easy. Just get it. You might buy a new fancy single buffer/spring all in one thats super quiet. But you'll need this first to figure out your needed weight. And that fancy single all in one unit isn't that much quieter than this and a flat spring.

Installed on an Aero M4E1. Worked out flawless. Protip, don't tighten it all the way down, you'll have trouble dropping from the left side. Tighten it all the way down, then back it out 1 complete turn and you'll be perfect. You knew this, but opticsplanet wants 200 words for a mag-catch.

The ONLY reason this isn't in my rifle, I had to return the blue because it was a complete mismatch between their LPK in blue. This was tight, well vented, well constructed. I would not hesitate to buy another one for another build. Forget the raptor, BUY THIS ONE.

I didn't use the mag catch (needed ambi) from this kit. I did use everything else. Springs were great, detents were polished, and the ambi safety is also a 45/90. The kit is well laid out and not in a plastic bag. The takedown pins have to be one of the best designs I've seen, and made installation a breeze. I didn't even lose a detent or send it across the room! The bolt catch could be a little better, but get the Strike if you don't like this one.. The price of this kit is worth the safety and the takedown pins alone. The quality springs and pins are a complete bonus. The color is not consistent between Armaspec parts fyi... I ordered Blue in this and also the charging handle. They didn't match. More like the blue and dark blue in the photos. I sent the handle back and got a Raptor due to the delay in a silver/grey one from Armaspec.

Well it's a spring - why'd I pay more for it? Flat springs are better than round. You get more spring in the same space, have less wear, and will have less noise. Great upgrade? Sure. Needed upgrade? I mean you could like that echoy twang everytime you fire.
