I appreciate that this scope is a little lighter and the locking turrets are important to me for a hunting scope/or capped turrets. The reticle and center dot is THICK so I would not consider this scope for a range scope but it's actually a good compromise for a hunting scope. I think the glass is good for the price, It's clear and bright, in line with Vortex and Athlon. The mounts are quite acceptable although I didn't use them since the gun already had rings. The lens cover is as basic as it gets but for the price I'm surprised it was included. It did come with a throw lever which is appreciated, which is also surprising since their next level option did not, and the packaging was high quality if you are in to that. This scope would be a good fit for any off the shelf rifle or even an AR hunting build, but it's probably not for the custom rifle or target shooter. The turret clicks are audible and distinct but not as crisp as a $500 Athlon but way better than my Sightmarks. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again as long as they keep the price affordable. I bought mine for $189, minus a coupon.

The turrets are really done well, maybe the best I've seen. The overall quality is close to Athlon and the glass is about the same as Athlon as well. I prefer Athlon's reticle but this one is perfectly fine, and appears to be the same as Arken. I believe there is a relationship with Swampfox and Arken. A lot of similarities. I am very happy to see a 4-24 power instead of the regular 5-25. I hope we see more low power variations like a 2-16 or 2.5-20. Keep up the good work Swampfox and don't let this review go to your head. Keep the prices right. It's not overly heavy but I bet they could make it a little lighter, this would be a bonus and they could save aluminum. (;

So far I have not hunted with this unit but I have been using it daily around my land for a month. I can tell you that the picture is really good and that is what ultimately helped me to decide on this thermal, it came with 2 batteries that seem to last a very long time, you'll be hard pressed tom run one down in a night. It was nicely packaged and all the controls are straight forward. Everything you want with a thermal works very well on this unit.
However, 2 complaints I have is that the field of view is relatively tight, it seems unusable inside of 75', and that isn't huge but it's good to know if you are using it in brush or tight areas. And the big issue for me that appears none of the manufacturers want to discuss is latency/video delay. It's pretty obvious with this one, and what I am most upset about. No manufacturer addresses it so I must assume it's a thing on all of them. If someone has a comparable Halo and can confirm this, that would ease my mind. If you hold the unit still and then start moving you can see that it has to catch up which means it's always behind. I've carefully studied the videos on YT and it appears this one may be the most obvious, I'm on the edge of wanting to return it for this reason. I'm running out of time though. It is my first thermal and I was not aware that the video has to pause to "NUC" (non uniformity correction) every couple minutes, I was informed by infiray that "all thermals need to do this". This Aero Precision nylon tipped tension set screw took a few weeks to get in but I was ordering to have a couple extra anyway. It did not fit in my Spikes lower but all the other lowers seem to be standardized. I called Spikes and they sent me a rinky dink tension screw but it worked.
