This PR-5 series optic has exceeded my expectations by far. Stunningly clear glass, super smooth throw on the magnification collar, and adjustment turrets have a solid positive click for each turn. The turrets are also oversized which I love, with a great knurled texture. I also really love the soft-touch pad for illumination instead of a traditional rheostat style wheel. Put this on a PRS rifle with a SPUHR mount, and have shot out to 800 Yards with it so far, field of view and overall clarity rival the Steiner on my other rifle (which cost almost 4x as much). FFP Reticle is fast and easy to read, plenty of information without feeling cluttered at full zoom, while also not "disappearing" at minimum like so many I have used. Parallax adjustment being on its own dedicated turret is also a great feature, with no risk of moving it accidentally while adjusting illumination (looking at you again, Steiner) Only real drawback I have in my use so far is that the turret ball of this scope is MASSIVE, which can definitely limit the brands/types of scope mounts that can be used with it. I'm running the SPUHR ISMS 48mm Height single piece, and the turret ball has only about 1/8th inch clearance between the rings, and any lower of a mount the ball would have bottomed out on the rail base. Besides this, if you are looking for a seriously solid piece of glass for a long range precision rifle, do yourself a favor and put this near the top of your list. Don't let the low price fool you, this
I got this to put on a racing competition rifle, so I wanted a handguard that was lightweight and offered good ventilation to keep the barrel cool during high-speed shooting. This Lancer handguard does both! The pictures online do not do it justice. The finish of the sleeve and barrel extention nut are superb, and the sleeve is held on by no less than 5 torx head set screws, making the complete unit rock solid. No flex whatsoever, the M-Lock slots feel every bit as sturdy as any aluminum handguard. Most importantly though of course, are the weight and aesthetics; The carbon fiber weave is tight with a super smooth glossy finish, and measured on my didgital kitchen scale it tipped in 2.1oz lighter than the same length fully aluminum handguard on one of my other rifles. The sleeve is a bit wider than I initially expected, however in the hand it still feels narrow, and the extra room between the inner wall and the barrel adds to the air flow available to keep everything nice and cool.
I have used Timber Creek products for years on several builds, always liked the quality of them and the strong mounting they provide. My most recent purchase was for the 13" Enforcer Ultra-Light handguard from Optics Planet, due to how much of a discount there was on the price compared to TC's own website. Unfortunately, that discount also apparently means that checks are not made to ensure it is the right product in the box; The rail I was sent is the regular "Enforcer" handguard, which has a monolithic rail running the entire length, whereas the "Ultra-Light" rail I ordered is only supposed to have two short rail sections front and rear with an M-Lok slotted section between them. Though I am disappointed to have received the wrong product, the handguard itself is a rock solid free float system, and looks as good as it performs. The anodizing is a consistant color too, none of the "waves" or "stains" often seen on large anodized aluminum components.
