great dot for the price

I use this on my short barrel CMMG Banshee. It works well. The dot is bright enough for the AZ outdoor use. The build quality is also decent.

I love the design of this integrated hand guard. The quality is outstanding. One note is... need to watch the instruction video before you do it. I struggled with getting it slide on to the gun. It doesn't fit through the little rubber stop thing on the barrel. I didn't know if I can safely remove it.

Be Aware of the Mountung Screws
Written on Apr 20, 2024
I was very excited about the Holosun brand until I took them to the range. Before anyone goes crazy about reading the manual and over torqued the screws... promised you I have read the manual and only torqued the screws to 15 inlb with blue loctie. Here is what happened... I installed an EPS on my brand new Canik Rival. The very first shot at the range, the EPS flew off the gun and almost hit me on the face. I was shocked at first and then realized both the monting screws snapped into half. Upon some Google search on "Broken holosun screws", i found that this has been a common issue with the Holosun screws... Buyers be aware. Really hope Holosun would implement a better quality approach for their product. This is a safety issue.

Stick with Battery Powered
Written on Apr 10, 2024
I gave it a try, and this technology is still not for me. I tried a trijicon ACOG many years ago, and very quickly, I realized I was better off with a battery-powered sight. Now, 10 years have gone by, I thought this M22 might include some technology advancements to make it somewhat comparable with a battery-powered red dot. The reticle is still dim regardless of whether it is in a bright environment or a dark environment. It was actually worse in the dark. The trillium source didn't provide much illumination. For $400+, I will consider something else.

It is a perfect scope
Written on Jul 21, 2014
I have nothing to complain about this scope! I was choosing between the dual illumination one and this. AT the end, I decided to go with this one. Just think about which one is easier to replace when the reticle brightness goes down, a tritium tube or a AA battery? One single AA battery can last 500 days at brightness level 4. It is very easy to see the reticle even under the super bright Arizona sun. When you increase the brightness to level 7, it starts throwing light out of the scope. I am not really sure why they even have this setting.
