I must own 10 of these bases for various pistols that I use the Fast Fire system on. 6 are Ruger Mark II, III, and now IV. The Ruger bases fit the curvature of the action perfectly and are easy to install once you remove the Ruger Rear Sight. NOW THAT CAN BE A CHALLENGE ON SOME GUNS!

The best thing about them is that the sight returns to zero after removing the sight to change batteries or do some other maintenance. I was pleasantly surprised the first time I did this. It returned to within 1/2" of the previous zero, making adjustment and re zero very easy. The worst was only 1.5" off. The \ trick I found that makes it easy is to put the sight and base in place loosely. Move it back and forth until the base finds its natural place, check to make sure the sight is centered over the action. Tighten with a torque wrench to the 12in-lb they specify. Zero and shoot away.

I have had these retain zero to within 1/2" for as much as 5 years or until the battery died (4+years)

Works well with one exception - dry hands!!! I am a burn survivor and have few sweat glands left on my hands so they are very dry! That means that the resistance activated switch doesn't work reliably for me. Others who tested it for me had no problems with. If I wet the side of my finger it worked very well; however, for a carry gun having to lick the side of one's finger under stress would be a real problem.
A second concern would be using it while wearing gloves. I didn't try that but suspect it would be the same as with dry hands.

I recommend that any purchaser get the holster designed to work with the laser and with their pistol. I didn't and would have regretted it.

I returned the laser and will get one with a pressure switch instead. Optics Planet has always been a superior vendor and I buy from them regularly!!
