Ruger Redhawk .44 Mag round butt

Written on Jul 06, 2018

I have a Ruger Redhawk Kodiak Backpacker 2-3/4" barrel. It is my camping, hiking, and fishing in grizzly country gun but it can be punishing with full-on grizzly ammunition in it. This grip helps with recoil but more importantly it helps me get the barrel back down faster for a follow-up shot. If you have either of the two Redhawks with round butts, the 2-3/4" or the 4", I recommend this grip.

Really nice bag with a few home improvements

The bottom of the bag has no support and easily caves in when you add some weight so I cut a piece of scrap peg board I had in the garage to fit in the bottom. The outside bottom of the bag has no protection from wear so I glued a piece of rubberized shelf liner to the bottom. I kind of don't care for the labeling on the compartments because I want to use them for what I want, so I don't pay any attention to the labels. My safety glasses, which are made to fit over prescription glasses, do not fit into the designated eye glass pouch. Also, my hearing protection, which are pretty common Howard Leight brand, do not fit into the designated hearing protection pouch. The ammo dump cups that come with it are rather useless to me, I don'
