Bought One, Then Another, Will Buy More

Written on Sep 05, 2018

Added this to a custom build and so glad I did. Best shooting rifle I own and there's no doubt a lot of it has to do with this combo. So smooth, no noise, couldn't ask for more. Was having trouble with an AR pistol so I bought another Super 42 on a hunch. Sure enough, problem solved. These will be in all of my AR's sooner or later.

Last Sling I'll Need To Buy...Unless I Want Another Color!

Written on Jun 25, 2018

This is the best sling I've ever used, period. The most comfortable, the easiest to adjust, the easiest to move from single-point to two-point and the best looking (it's Magpul, so no surprises there. Wasn't crazy about the price, but another testament to "You Get What You Pay For", for sure. Very highly recommended, especially if you have attachment points on several firearms of different sizes & applications. The one that does it all.

Excellent Quality & Beautiful Color

Written on Jun 18, 2018

Added these to a custom "Red" AR build using as many Strike Industries products as possible. SI doesn't offer scope rings so I gave these a try. The color is a near-perfect match to the SI Red Line. Moreover, the quality of these rings far surpass my expectations for a UTG product. And to be fair, I've owned many UTG products over the years and never had a problem with any of them. I've just always viewed the brand as the "budget" option over the crazy money you can spend on optics, for example. This was the finishing touch I was looking for (currently holding a Nikon P223 3x32) and didn't break the bank in the process. Couldn't be happier or recommend more. Buy them!

Makes My AR Pistol A Work Of Art

Written on May 16, 2018

I felt a little foolish for spending this much money on a brace for my first AR pistol build, especially when you can buy fins and cheap stabilizers for under $50 all day long. However...after looking at hundreds of photos online, I decided I wanted a brace that had the rail system. It simply looked much better to me. It's more substantial, more aluminum vs a hunk of plastic, and serves a purpose (adjustable). And after unboxing & installing the SBPDW, the buyer's remorse for what I spent on it quickly went out the window, as it became a focal point (possibly more so than the Midwest Industries SP Series hand guard I also went over-budget on). The brace is quality, has small tolerances (not shaky or wobbly), adjusts to your shooting needs, comes with a copy of the compliance letter from the ATF (nice touch), and just goes off the charts on the Wow Factor. If you're looking for a means to an end, there are much cheaper options. If you're creating art, like many of us think we are, you should consider one of these with your next pistol build. Highly Recommended!

Crimson Trace LiNQ Does Not Disappoint

Written on May 16, 2018

As with everything from CT, the LiNQ system screams quality from the moment it's unboxed to the first few shots. Install was easy, also as expected, pairing the grip with the module just as easy, and surprisingly, the laser needed no adjustment after being tightened down on the rail. The button on the grip takes a little getting used to, but works exactly as intended. My favorite way to activate is to simply bump the large button on the module with my knuckle while aiming. I have a vertical grip about 3-4 inches behind the module and it's a natural movement for me. When activating this way, the laser stays on (which I like) and when I want to shut it off, I simply put pressure on the grip button. Maybe not ideal for everyone, but this process is perfect for me. The laser is green (awesome, by the way) and super-bright. Very surprised how far out I could see it in daylight. At night, it seemed to go on forever. Flashlight is also very bright and the modes cover all the bases (Laser Only, Laser & Light, Light Only, Laser & Strobe Light). So glad I picked this up, especially just under the deadline for the free pistol laser rebate. Looking forward to seeing that in the mail, as well. Highly recommended!

The Standard

Written on May 07, 2018

I have front & rear MBUS on just about every firearm I own (or at least every one that has a rail), regardless of whether it has a scope, red dot or laser attached. You never know when your batteries will go dead, your alignment will go out of whack, or your glass breaks. In those instances, having a set of MBUS as your backup is smart. Moreover, as I get past the "Lego" phase of AR ownership, I'm starting to feel as though Less Is More, and taking some of the "stuff" off the rails. Less weight, less to worry about, less to fuss on. A good set of MBUS sights makes for a good day of shooting (instead of tinkering). I wish everything was made like Magpul.
