Finely machined piece of pew art

Written on May 30, 2020

I have had quite a bit of experience with Aero. Namely uppers and handguards but never used one of their BCGs. I also have a few BA barrels which have always been great quality at a good price.I'm glad I pulled the trigger on this purchase(pun intended). It was on sale and with my optics bucks, I was able to get it cheaper than a toolcraft. There is nothing wrong with toolcraft as I have one and it works fine. Abyway, tge finish is flawless and slicker than snot. Functioned perfectly out of the box as it came well, well lubed. Like 2 people were oil wrestling while assembling the BCG. It had a little residue from test firing which I am ok with. What doesn't blow up at Aero shouldn't blow up in my face. Although it may be doing a service if you ask some people.

Ballistic Advantage does it again

Written on May 30, 2020

This barrel is very, very nice. I am usually not a fan of stainless finishes, but the bead blasting made the difference. the finish is flawless. It pairs well with the stainless steel gas block and artsy-fartsy Odin handguard. No burrs inside around the gas port and no rust or blemishes on the inside. How does it shoot you might ask. I thought asthetics was the most important thing. Well, it headspaced just fine. That's a plus. Other than some plinking, I haven't shoot through it much but, I'll be testing her with some handloads next week. BA has always done me justice so, I am not fretting much.

Perfect to put an AR back together right before you find the springs you just lost

Written on May 21, 2020

We've all done it. Shot a loaded spring across the room. It can be embarrassing and almost impossible to find. Well, that's where this gem comes in. No more cursing because you were just blinded in one eye and lost a spring to put your build together. With this product, you'll probably still be cursing about your eye, but worrying about finding the spring is a thing of the past. Just reach into whichever crevice you keep your spare parts and BAM! You just shot your other eye out.

Odin Works has won me over again and this time without buying me flowers

Written on May 21, 2020

This thing is cute, cute, cute. A great addition to an Ar pistol. I guess you could use it for a carbine or rifle, but that just seems silly. It is super light and is kind of like an AFG and a hand stop had a baby...and that baby never grew. The fit and finish is top notch as with every Odin product I have. The price is competative with similar items but, having the Odin name puts it in a league of it's own.

Nice aftermarket replacement for the cheese-ball OEM plastic ones

Written on May 21, 2020

See title. Also, this thing is flashy. It adds a little pizzazz to the boring plastic cover plate. The weight is non-existent. I like the extra durability of aluminum is nice to have. The OEM cover plate tends to get all jacked up when it gets removed. No me gusta. The anodizing is perfect and very resistant. Ask me how I know. Ok. I'm clumsy. I would reccomend for an affordable accessory.

A must have for changing barrels

Written on May 21, 2020

This will be the second one of these i have bought. ...........................It is for a gift. After getting tired of seeing my buddy(not Trevor)wrestle around on his bed like a greased hog, trying to put on a barrel with some forsaken wooden contraption as an upper clamp, I decided to inform him there was an easier way(after watching him struggle for a minute). I presented my 1st example of this product. As it has served me well I showed him this simple yet effective piece of equipment...and a torque wrench. As many, he tried to build an AR as cheaply as possible so, I gifted him mine as I don't want to see any AR turned into a pretzel, and bought this as a gift for myself. This is a very durable piece of equipment and my only qualm is that the anodized finish comes off fairly easy. Such a pretty blue too. Anyway, it doesn't hurt the integrity. The cleaning feature is a nice little feature too.

Another great Odin works product

Written on May 18, 2020

This handguard is so light it almost flew away. It's a nice looking handguard paired with gray BA SPR barrel. My buddy says it looks "artsy fartsy". I told him to go fly a kite and get my handguard that fluttered away. Then he said he wanted to touch it. Despite how lightweight this handguard is, it is just as strong as any other handguard i have used. I'm guessing it is in correlation with the artsy-fartsy design (kiss my grits Trevor). The finish is top notch and the machining is flawless. No sharp angles whatsoever. I went m-lok because keymod sucks. I will most likely use a different model Odin on my next build.

Great budget red dot

Written on May 18, 2020

A good option if you aren't looking to spend a ton on a red dot. I have astigmatism,so all red dots look like a sea urchin to me but, a few friends don't and they say it looks nice and crisp. I really like the AAA option and the upgraded recessed adjustment slots.
