Originally mounted on a 1911 in .45ACP, but the spring-loaded quick-detach mounting latch doesn't hold it tight enough on the rail. The laser wouldn't maintain zero due to this, wandering as much as an inch in any direction at 10yds. Practically, this would absolutely get the job done and has no affect if it's primarily used as a light with the laser being used for secondary aiming. Just be aware of this if it's on a heavier recoil caliber and you really want the laser to hold a true zero. Other than that, the light is great! Very bright and incredibly easy to recharge and switch between light/light+laser/laser. I bet it'd be perfect on a rimfire, 5.7, or even a softer-shooting 9mm platform.
